I took a piece from the body of my installation in Chile, a drop of blood, and travelled to New York to my 2 month residency at ISCP. This piece of work made from the sand of the Atacama desert and red dyed textile recycled in Antofagasta. I placed it on the main wall of my Residency studio and framed it on stage with a loose, translucent textile. I was guided by the acceptance and praise of the difficulties of our human existence.
Drop of Blood
The constant sacrifice
the vivid sign
sticks you to the ground,
to find your own way to the stars.
Walk through your journey with persistence,
with the elevating power of your soul
and when your spirit is shining
you gonna find your peace in the dirty soil.
